How Wuthering Waves Astrite and Convene Work
Wuthering Waves uses Astrite as its premium currency, and Convene as its gacha pull system. Every Convene costs 160 Astrite, regardless of banner type. Understanding how pity, guarantee mechanics, and income sources work is essential for planning your pulls efficiently.
Unlike some gacha games, WuWa has three distinct banner types with different rules. Character Event Convene uses Radiant Tides and has a 50/50 mechanic on featured 5-star resonators. Weapon Event Convene uses Forging Tides and guarantees the featured weapon on every 5-star — there is no 50/50. Standard Convene uses Standard Tides and has no rate-up target.

An active F2P player who completes daily quests, partial Tower clears, and most events can expect roughly 8,000–12,000 Astrite per 42-day patch. This translates to approximately 50–75 pulls. Completionist players who fully clear Tower and explore new content can push closer to 15,000 Astrite.
Should I pull on Standard Convene with my free Standard Tides?
Yes — Standard Tides cannot be used on event banners, so there is no reason to save them. The Standard Convene pity counter is separate from event banners and guarantees a 5-star every 80 pulls. Early in your account, these pulls can provide useful standard resonators and weapons to build your roster.
What is the worst-case cost to guarantee a featured character?
Worst-case for a guaranteed featured character (S0) is 160 pulls if you start from zero pity and are not guaranteed — 80 pulls for the first 5-star (which you might lose), plus another 80 for the guaranteed featured. If you are already guaranteed, the worst case drops to 80 pulls. For reference, 160 pulls costs 25,600 Astrite.
