How the Resonance Calculator Works

Our Wuthering Waves Resonance Calculator helps you plan every aspect of building a resonator — from banner pulls to echo farming and resource management. The tool scores your readiness across three pillars: banner pity, echo acquisition, and total resource cost.

Banner Pity

Calculates probability of getting your target resonator based on current pity, banner type, and 50/50 status. Includes soft pity ramp modelling.

Echo Farming

Estimates days and boss runs needed to get a Cost 4 echo with your desired main stat, using actual drop rate data from the game.

Resource Costs

Totals shell credits, boss drops, and materials needed to level your character and weapon to the target level.

Wuthering Waves Banner Mechanics

Character Event0.8%Pull 68Pull 8050/50
Weapon Event0.8%Pull 55Pull 60Guaranteed
Standard0.8%NonePull 80No rate-up

Character Event banners use a 50/50 system: your first 5★ has a 50% chance to be the featured resonator. If you lose the 50/50, your next 5★ is guaranteed to be featured. Weapon Event banners have no 50/50 — every 5★ is the featured weapon.

Echo Main Stat Drop Rates

Cost 4 echoes from bosses have a 12% base drop rate. Once an echo drops, the main stat is rolled from the following distribution. Crit Rate and Crit DMG are the most sought-after stats — and the rarest.

Main StatDrop RateExpected Boss Runs
HP % / ATK % / DEF %22%~38
Crit Rate % / Crit DMG %11%~76
Healing Bonus % / Energy Regen %6%~139

At 60 waveplate per boss run and 240 daily waveplate regeneration, you can attempt 4 bosses per day. A Crit Rate main stat echo takes roughly 19 days of farming on average. Plan accordingly and consider ATK% as a temporary substitute.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does pity work in Wuthering Waves? ▼
Pity in WuWa is a guarantee system that ensures you get a 5★ after a set number of pulls. Character banners have hard pity at 80 pulls with soft pity starting at 68. Weapon banners have hard pity at 60 pulls with soft pity at 55. Your pity counter carries over between banners of the same type — Character Event pity transfers to the next Character Event banner.
Should I pull on Character Event or Standard banner? ▼
Always save your astrite for Character Event banners. Standard banners have no rate-up, meaning you have an equal chance to get any of the 12 standard 5★ resonators. Character Event banners give you a 50% chance (or guaranteed if you lost the previous 50/50) at the specific featured resonator. Never spend astrite on Standard banners unless you have free Standard Tides.
What is the best echo set for my resonator? ▼
Match your echo set to your resonator's element: Spectro resonators use Celestial Light, Havoc uses Havoc Eclipse, Fusion uses Molten Rift, Glacio uses Freezing Frost, Electro uses Void Thunder, and Aero uses Sierra Gale. Supports and healers typically use Rejuvenating Glow or Moonlit Clouds. The 5-piece set bonus is usually stronger than mixing sets, so aim for a full set.
How many shell credits do I need to max a character? ▼
Leveling a character from 1 to 90 costs approximately 408,000 shell credits. A weapon from 1 to 90 costs approximately 282,000. Echo upgrades add roughly 120,000 more. In total, expect to spend around 800,000 shell credits to fully build one resonator with a level 90 weapon and +25 echoes. Start saving early — shell credit income is gated by daily quests and exploration.
Is it worth pulling for resonance chains (S1–S6)? ▼
Resonance chains (constellations) provide significant power spikes at S1, S3, and S6. S1 usually unlocks a quality-of-life feature or small damage boost. S3 and S6 are the biggest power spikes. As a free-to-play player, S0 is perfectly viable for all content. Only chase resonance chains if you have surplus astrite after securing your target resonator and their signature weapon.
How long does echo farming actually take? ▼
The average time to get a specific Cost 4 echo with your desired main stat is 10–20 days of daily waveplate spending, depending on the stat. Common stats like ATK% and HP% drop at 22% rate and take about 9–10 days. Rare stats like Crit Rate and Crit DMG at 11% take 18–20 days. Energy Regen and Healing Bonus at 6% can take over a month. Use our calculator to set realistic expectations before committing to a farm.
