How Roblox Limited Value Is Calculated

Every limited item carries two prices: RAP (Recent Average Price) and Value (community consensus). Trades are judged by Value, not RAP. Here's the exact pipeline, worked through with a Dominus Frigidus paired with a Sparkle Time Fedora:

Dominus Frigidus

1.90M Value

+

Sparkle Time Fedora

520.0K Value

=

Portfolio Value

2.42M R$

Example: Dominus Frigidus carries a Value of 1,900,000 Robux and Sparkle Time Fedora carries a Value of 520,000 Robux. Owning both together gives a collection Value of 2,420,000 Robux — the number a trader would actually use to judge trade offers, regardless of what either item's RAP currently shows.

RAP vs Value — Why They're Not the Same Number

Two prices follow every Roblox limited around, and confusing them is the single most common trading mistake newer collectors make.

RAP

Recent Average Price

The average of the last handful of marketplace resales. It's purely historical and easy to manipulate — traders can "wash trade" an item back and forth to artificially inflate its RAP before offering it in a real deal.

Value

Community Consensus Price

What the trading community actually agrees an item is worth in a genuine trade, correcting for RAP manipulation. This is the number real trades are judged against — not RAP.

Items flagged Projected in this calculator have a RAP sitting noticeably above their real Value — a strong signal their RAP was inflated through wash trading rather than genuine demand. Always price a Projected item by its Value, never its RAP.

Reading Demand and Trend Ratings

Value alone doesn't tell you how easy an item is to trade. Every item in the calculator also carries a Demand rating (how many traders actively want it) and a Trend (which direction its Value is moving), both of which shift as the marketplace evolves.

Demand Ratings

RatingWhat it means
AmazingUniversally wanted — near-instant offers on any trade platform
HighReliably tradeable, usually finds a match within the day
NormalTradeable but may need to be bundled with other items
LowMostly used as filler Value in larger trades
TerribleVery few genuine offers — mostly held for nostalgia, not trade value

Trend Labels

  • Rising: Value has been climbing recently — good time to hold, bad time to give away.
  • Stable: Value has held steady — safe to price at its current Value.
  • Fluctuating: Value swings unpredictably with thin trading volume — expect inconsistent offers.
  • Falling: Value has been dropping, often because RAP was inflated above real demand — good time to trade it away.
  • Hoarded: a small group of collectors is holding most of the supply, keeping it off the open market.
  • Unstable: low trading volume makes the price unpredictable in either direction.

How the Trade Fairness Checker Works

Add what you're giving to Side A and what you're receiving to Side B. The calculator totals both sides by Value and computes a skew percentage — how far apart the two totals are relative to the larger side.

Fairness Bands

0–5% skew — Fair Trade. Both sides are close enough to accept without renegotiating.

5–20% skew — Slightly Uneven. Worth asking for a small filler item to balance it out.

20–40% skew — Lopsided. Renegotiate before confirming.

40%+ skew — Scam Warning. One side is giving up dramatically more Value than they're getting — a common pattern in scam-cancel or dupe-bait attempts.

Always factor in Demand, Trend, and Projected status alongside the raw Value totals — a "Fair Trade" by Value can still be a bad trade if you're giving up a Rising, Amazing-demand item for something Falling and Projected in return.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between RAP and Value?
RAP (Recent Average Price) is the average of an item's last handful of marketplace resales — purely historical and easy to manipulate through wash trading. Value is the trading community's consensus on what an item is genuinely worth, correcting for that manipulation. Real trades are judged against Value, not RAP.
What does "Projected" mean on an item?
Projected means an item's RAP sits noticeably above its real trading Value, usually because a small group of traders inflated it through wash trades. If someone offers you a Projected item, its RAP looks impressive but the genuine resale Value is lower — price it by Value, not the RAP shown.
What counts as a "fair" trade?
The calculator treats any trade within 5% skew between both sides' total Value as fair. Between 5–20% skew is slightly uneven but still reasonable. 20–40% skew is flagged as lopsided and worth renegotiating. Above 40% skew triggers a Scam Warning — that level of imbalance is a common pattern in scam attempts, not a genuine trade.
Why does an item's trend matter if the Value is the same?
Value is a snapshot, but the market keeps moving. An item rated "Rising" is likely to be worth more soon, so giving it up now for a "Falling" item of equal current Value is a worse deal than the raw numbers suggest. Always weigh Demand and Trend alongside the total when deciding whether to accept a trade that's technically "fair" by Value.
Can I add the same item twice with different quantities?
Yes. Each row supports a quantity of 1–30, so if you're holding three copies of the same item, set the quantity to 3 on a single row rather than adding three separate rows — the line total (unit Value × quantity) is calculated the same either way.
Are these RAP and Value figures accurate for the current marketplace?
The RAP, Value, Demand, and Trend figures used here are illustrative, community-style trading estimates — not a live marketplace feed. Roblox limited prices move constantly with real trading activity, so always cross-check current numbers on a live trading platform before finalizing a high-value trade.
