Carryover Logic

Shared Pity Explained:

Limited Pools

Pity is shared between simultaneous banners of the same category and carries over rotation to rotation.

Guarantee Persistence

If you lose the 50/50 (or 75/25), your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured item.

Resource Velocity

We calculate how many pulls you can afford right now using both your raw currency and pre-converted pulls.

Understanding Gacha Pity Carryover Mechanisms

In modern gacha titles like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Wuthering Waves, the "Pity System" is your ultimate protection against poor luck. A common point of confusion is how this progress moves between banners. Our Pity Carryover Tracker is designed to help you calculate exactly how much currency you need for your next guaranteed 5-star character or weapon.

# The Resource Gap Formula
Pulls_Needed = (Hard_Pity * (Is_Guaranteed ? 1 : 2)) - Current_Pity
Currency_Needed = Pulls_Needed * 160

While your pull count carries over between banners of the same type, specific mechanics like Genshin's Epitomized Path points typically do NOT.

Study: The F2P Guarantee Strategy

Why your "Guarantee" is the most valuable asset on your account.

Most limited-time banners operate on a 50/50 basis: if you pull a 5-star that isn't the featured character, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured one. This status carries over indefinitely across banner rotations. By auditing your pity with our tracker, you can "prep" a guarantee on a banner you're lukewarm about and save it for a "Must-Have" meta unit.

Before you commit your savings, use our Gacha Luck Meter to see where your current luck percentile stands. If you're considering buying more currency, audit the real-world value of your packs with our Currency ROI tool. You can also simulate your success probability with the Gacha Pity Calc.

Pity Carryover Management Checklist

  • Banner Synchronization: Limited Character Banners 1 & 2 always share the same pity pool.
  • Weapon Separation: Weapon banner pity is almost always separate from character pity.
  • Standard Independent: The standard/permanent banner uses its own pity that never resets or carries to limited pools.
  • Soft Pity Threshold: Be aware that rates start increasing at pull 74 for characters in most HoYoverse titles.

The "Pity Building" Trap

A common community mistake is "building pity" on a banner you don't actually want just to "get closer" to the 5-star range. Because every pull has a chance to hit a 5-star early (0.6% base rate), you risk "resetting" your pity and losing your guarantee on a character you didn't want.

Instead, focus on resource velocity. Use the Gacha Pity Calc to see your exact odds at your current pull count before pulling the trigger.

Carryover Rules by Game

  • Genshin: 90 Hard Pity, 50/50 System, Weapon Banner Pity carries, but Fate Points do NOT.
  • Star Rail: 90 Hard Pity, 50/50 System, Light Cone Banner Pity carries. Includes standard selector milestones.
  • WuWa: 80 Hard Pity, Weapon Banners are 100% Guaranteed (No 50/50 coin flip).

Pity & Carryover FAQ

Does pity reset if I get an early 5-star?

Yes. The moment you receive any 5-star item, your pity count for that specific pool resets to 0.

What happens if I lose the 50/50?

You receive a standard character, and your next 5-star on a limited banner is guaranteed to be the featured one.

Is pity shared between different games?

No. Pity is game-specific. Progress in Genshin Impact has no impact on your Honkai: Star Rail or ZZZ accounts.

Do Fate Points carry over?

In Genshin Impact, Epitomized Path points for the weapon banner reset every banner rotation and do NOT carry over.

Our Pity Tracker uses verified community constants to audit your resource velocity. These simulations are for strategic planning and do not guarantee in-game results.
