The Mathematics of Muscle Memory (cm/360)
In competitive FPS gaming, your sensitivity isn't just a number in a menu—it's a physical distance. The gold standard for measuring aim is cm/360: the exact distance your mouse moves on the pad to complete a full rotation.
By matching your cm/360 across titles like Valorant, CS2, and Apex Legends, you preserve the neural pathways responsible for your "flicks." Our converter uses the internal Yaw constants of each engine to ensure your physical movement remains 1:1 across every game.
Sensitivity Archetypes
Precision focus for tactical shooters (CS2/VAL).
The most versatile range for mixed movement games.
High-speed tracking for arena shooters (Quake/Apex).
DPI vs. Sensitivity: The Latency Gap
Did you know that higher DPI reduces input lag? At 400 DPI, your mouse sensor takes longer to register the first movement compared to 1600 or 3200 DPI.
To achieve the most responsive aim, we recommend using a higher hardware DPI (like 1600) and lowering your in-game sensitivity to maintain your preferred cm/360. This configuration results in "smoother" cursor data and significantly less Pixel Skipping.
Pro Optimization Tip
- 01. Set Mouse DPI to 1600 for lower motion latency.
- 02. Use our converter to find the matching lower Sens.
- 03. Disable "Mouse Acceleration" in Windows & Game.
Understanding eDPI (Effective DPI)
eDPI is the only way to compare settings between players using different hardware. It's a simple formula: Sens × DPI = eDPI.
A player with 1.0 sens at 800 DPI and a player with 0.5 sens at 1600 DPI both have an 800 eDPI. Their physical aim will feel identical. When copying a pro's settings, always match their eDPI, not just their sensitivity number.
"Copying a pro's sensitivity without matching their DPI is the #1 mistake new players make. Use our benchmarking tool above to see how your eDPI stacks up against the elite."
Optimization & Technical FAQ
Does FOV affect sensitivity?
Your physical cm/360 stays constant, but your Visual Sensitivity changes. A wider Field of View (FOV) makes targets appear smaller and further away, which can make your sensitivity feel slower visually. Check our FOV Calculator to sync your visuals.
What is "Pixel Skipping"?
Pixel skipping occurs when your in-game sensitivity is so high that the smallest possible mouse movement jumps over pixels on the screen. To prevent this, increase your hardware DPI and decrease your in-game multiplier.
Should I use Raw Input?
Always. Raw Input (m_rawinput 1) bypasses Windows mouse settings and acceleration, ensuring the game receives the exact counts from your sensor with no interference or artificial smoothing.
Does polling rate matter?
Yes. A higher polling rate (1000Hz or 4000Hz+) reduces the time between physical movement and the computer receiving the data. High polling rates pair best with high-refresh-rate monitors (240Hz+).
